This custom-built cabin is a true work of art—crafted from locally milled wood and adorned with hand-forged metal details. From its large picture windows, take in sweeping views of Nelson Mountain and the surrounding wilderness while enjoying the peace and seclusion that only an off-grid experience can offer.

Perfect for a family of four or two couples, this cozy retreat combines rustic charm with modern comfort. Powered by solar energy with a backup generator, the cabin offers all the comforts of home while allowing you to fully immerse yourself in nature. Watch for moose and deer in the meadow below, unwind on the deck, or explore nearby ATV trails, mountain creeks, and historic mining sites—all just minutes away.

• Bristol Head Trailhead – 14 miles / 30 minutes
• South Fork – 35 miles / 50 minutes

–Good to Know–
• NOTE: 4WD/AWD is required YEAR-ROUND! ATV/trailer parking is available for a twelve-foot (12ft) trailer or smaller. The driveway is steep gravel.
• Home is powered by solar energy with a backup generator
• Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.
• Pet-friendly (max 2 dogs, $40/day, max $250 per stay)
• All stays over 30 days require a mid-stay clean. Longer stays will require cleans every 30 days (additional guest expense)
• Book at least a week, and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Year’s).

Cancellation Policy: A non-refundable payment of $300 is required at the time of booking. This $300 payment is applied toward the total amount due and is only refundable within 72 hours of the time the booking is made. If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, you will need to pay in full at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes to stay dates, including changes that result in a shortened stay, are not permitted within 30 days of arrival, and any such changes will result in a penalty. Cancellations or changes made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date forfeit the entire reservation amount. In contrast, cancellations made more than thirty (30) days before your arrival only forfeit the $300 payment made at the time of booking. For reservations that are at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy above increases to sixty (60) days before the arrival date. We do offer travel insurance.

  We’ve been coming to the Creede area for 8 years and this was our first experience staying up on Bachelor Loop. This property is easy to get to from downtown, about 10-15min, located down the road to Last Chance Mine. The views are spectacular with nothing but mountains and trees. We felt secluded, but with the easy access to town it was nice to go grab dinner each night in town. We did a ton of mountain biking on this trip and being up on Bachelor Loop we were right next to the trails. It was kind of like a ride in ride out trip not having to load our gear into the truck each day.
  Hosts were great, place has Wi-Fi that allowed me to do a few zoom meetings and place was super clean. Definitely would stay here again.

  This cabin is for everyone. It’s up in the mountains but the roads are so well maintained it’s very easy to get to. We came late May which had minimal to no snow. Driveway was really the only steep part the AWD was needed. Clean, new, very spacious cabin. Comfortable updated furniture. There were so many nice properties in this area you never felt like you had to worry about “the neighbors”. We’ve stayed in other cabins in other states where locals don’t like you are in their hood. People are very nice here and friendly to tourists. Gas, food and supplies not far to town. Every road off the highway 30 mi north or 30 mi south is worth exploring. No host bothering you or hovering over you at the cabin...we avoid those. Just you, the cabin, and the wilderness. We felt very comfortable here. The cabin finishes are very beautiful and artistic. Spotless toilet and shower. The name is fitting for this beautiful gem! So thankful we got to stay here for a week hope everyone else has as much fun as we did:)

  This place is truly one of a kind.
  
  It's easy to access - close to town but feels a million miles away - you can't see or hear anyone else. The view is to die for with a whole wall of windows to enjoy from.
  
  The inside is beautiful and very well appointed, as expected. But it's the metalwork...
  
  From the lasercut gate and railings, custom metal artwork and very unique metal countertops, the owners have created something special to enjoy.
  
  The Amethyst is an artistic masterpiece and truly feels like a (posh) step back into the old west.
