Welcome to Mountain Shadow Retreat, a premier riverfront retreat offering luxury in an unforgettable Colorado setting. Nestled along the banks of the South Fork Rio Grande River, this exceptional home blends upscale comfort with breathtaking riverfront views and endless access to outdoor adventure.

Relax on the expansive riverside deck with sweeping views of the river and surrounding mountains, soak in the private hot tub just steps from the river or gather on the deck in the evenings under the stars. Whether you’re entertaining or unwinding, every space is designed for elevated relaxation.

Inside, the main level features three luxurious king bedrooms, each thoughtfully appointed for comfort. The primary suite offers a spa-like five-piece ensuite bath and Smart TV, while the two additional king bedrooms are also equipped with Smart TVs and share a spacious full bathroom. Upstairs, a bunk room and a fourth full bathroom provide additional accommodations ideal for families or groups.

The chef’s gourmet kitchen is fully equipped with dual ovens, a gas range, a large island, and an inviting dining area—perfect for hosting memorable meals. Step outside to the riverfront deck, complete with a gas grill and Blackstone for elevated outdoor dining.

After a day of adventure, retreat to the private media room located above the garage—an ideal space for movie nights and relaxation. Two convertible futons provide additional sleeping options without sacrificing comfort.

With VRC, you can book with confidence knowing your vacation is in expert hands.

Cancellation Policy: A non-refundable payment of $300 is required when booking. This $300 payment is applied toward the total amount due and is only refundable within 72 hours of the time the booking is made. If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes to stay dates, including changes that result in a shortened stay, are not permitted within 30 days of arrival, and any will result in a penalty. Cancellations or changes made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date forfeit the entire reservation amount, while cancellations made more than thirty (30) days before your arrival only forfeit the $300 payment made at the time of booking. For reservations that are at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy above increases to sixty (60) days before the arrival date. We do offer travel insurance.

  The home was conveniently located with easy access for anyone towing trailers. The river was literally a few steps off of the back deck. The home was very clean, beautiful & thoughtfully laid out to accommodate a large family or multiple families. The kitchen was fully stocked with plenty of cookware & dishes. There were also pantry supplies (spices,flour,sugar,etc). The hosts were great & very responsive to any of our needs and checked with us regularly to make sure all was well. This home is definitely a five star and we would no hesitate to rent again!!

  The Mountain Shadow Retreat was extremely accommodating for our family of five, and honestly can accommodate ten people very comfortably. The house is closer to the South Fork River than it appears in the pictures and the sound of rushing water can be heard quite nicely from the two back bedrooms. Absolutely gorgeous area with plentiful lakes and hiking trails. Property management is top notch (5/5 stars), they certainly want you to enjoy your stay. We wouldn’t hesitate coming back to this home.

  Well equipped kitchen and outdoor grill. Beds were comfortable with high quality linens and towels. House was spotless and gave a warm feeling as a home away from home. Plenty of indoor and outdoor space to socialize or to find some privacy. Nice fishing opportunities in the back yard; the 4 of us enjoyed success in catching and releasing nice size trout during our week stay. Management company was a pleasure to work with and followed up after our arrival to make sure we were finding everything to our satisfaction. We had 2 young male deer visit with us briefly. For fly fishermen, location is convenient to a number of local streams. Much better service and lower fee structure than the other major vacation rental firm.

  My family had an excellent stay here on our ski vacation. The home is very well maintained and clean. All appliances and fire places were in working order. We did not encounter any problems during out stay.
  WiFi gives ~ 20 Mbps download in the living room. Good Verizon cell coverage.
